Salt, Light, and Rock ‘n Roll (part two) –

A case study of the musical artist, Katy Perry, and the negative response within the Christian community over a fellow believer seemingly leaving the faith for a chance at fame and fortune. We move past the established arguments against the “fallen Christian”, and move on to the more important task of humanizing the individual, as well as exposing those who “enable” or “condemn”. Is there another option? We’ll give you one. As well, the reason why our approach is vital in the first place!

How’s it going, everyone?
I just wanted to keep everyone in the loop as to what’s going on with this particular two-part show… Salt, Light, and Rock ‘n Roll!
The first episode was, essentially, meant to be the one and only show based upon the case study of one musical artist. When I worked my way through the podcast, it became quite apparent that I was not going to be able to completely tackle all that I was intending on focusing on in just one show. I thank the many people who have already downloaded sl&rnr… and all within the first twenty-four hours of its availability. I’m so thankful for you guys! Honest! I am completely cognizant of the possibility that when I go down the type of road that I travel in episodes such as this, I may step on some toes… I may even lose listeners. Please believe me when I say, however, that my heart is fully in this one… and my intentions are of a positive nature. I want situations such as a backslider in the ranks (and our reaction to him or her) to become our strength, rather than our weakness. The stakes are absolutely too high for us to screw this type of thing up! Or, worst case scenario, just consider this the ramblings of a Canadian who may be mistaking the sensibilities of an American audience. Either way… I’m going to continue down this path… whether it be friendly and harmonious, or whether it be hostile and lonely. I care about you too much to do it any other way!

I plan on releasing Episode 5 – sl&rnr (part two) hopefully by this time this coming Tuesday. In it, I hope to move beyond the case study of one person, and into the realm of where our biases and experiences help to determine our choices, and how we can step away from our own situation just long enough to consider possibilities that will allow a mighty working of the Holy Spirit before man. This world may be going down a road from which it will never return in any recognizable form, but I really feel that God is beginning something… something that will really and truly affect this world… just how far it goes will be determined by how much we are willing to concede to Him.

I will hopefully have a reference page available by Tuesday as well! This show has enough reference material to necessitate it.

Salt, Light, and Rock ‘n Roll (part one) –

A case study of the musical artist, Katy Perry, and the negative response within the Christian community over a fellow believer seemingly leaving the faith for a chance at fame and fortune. Hopefully we’ll stop the “scud missile” attacks long enough to take a seasoned and rational approach to dealing with those who appear to “fall away”. This podcast makes the attempt at delving far deeper than the typical talking heads’ points and counterpoints. We’re not going anywhere near where you’d expect us to go!

attention: show notes will be available shortly
